We envision a thriving Malawi society inspired by high integrity. We work together with individuals and institutions at all levels of Malawi society and beyond to promote integrity through evidence-based advocacy and citizen empowerment.
Platform Overview
The Integrity Platform aims to increase awareness about corruption, enhance efforts by other anti-corruption agencies, and facilitate advocacy and lobbying on policy and legislative reforms on general governance and anti-corruption.
IP's approach focuses on three pillars: research, advocacy, and civic empowerment. The major targets are public policy key players, government and its major development partners, and the general public.
Key Activities
- Strengthening Malawi's National Integrity System through research and evidence generation
- Promoting anti-corruption advocacy through reports including Transparency International's CPI
- Coordinating forums for anti-corruption stakeholders across Malawi
- Championing advocacy around transparency and accountability on public audit
- Civic empowerment programmes to engage citizens on governance issues
- Policy and legislative reform advocacy on governance and anti-corruption frameworks
UNCAC Engagement
The Integrity Platform is actively exploring participation in monitoring the implementation of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) locally, recognising the absence of a dedicated local organisation doing this important work. IP is open to linking with any organisation already engaged with UNCAC implementation to support these critical efforts.
